I am a qualified Assessor for the Level 3 Diploma in Cultural Heritage as well as other work-based learning Diploma and Apprenticeship programmes in museums.
Most recently, I worked as an assessor on the SOCL, work-based learning traineeship programme at Culture&. The aim of the SOCL programme was to increase workforce diversity across the heritage sector by providing work-based training for young people from sections of the population historically under-represented. Their remit was to diversify the decision-making levels in the UK heritage sector by providing paid training placements within a broad range of institutions.
I was responsible for teaching, mentoring and assessing 17 trainees in museums and heritage sites across London and the South East. I used the online portfolio system OneFile to assess trainees work remotely in addition to conducting observation visits and interviews at their place of work.
