Co-chair of GEM London and Chair of GEM Freelance Network
I am the co-chair of GEM London. I am also the chair of the GEM Freelance Network. I organise and run Twilight training sessions and day time events for museum educators across London. The purpose of these twilight CPD sessions, talks and other events is to share best practice, learn about new projects and support each other in our professional and creative lives. Our aim is to celebrate and develop the provision of museum and heritage education for learners of all ages
Recent sessions include, Mental Health awareness in Museums, Fantastical Family art installations and Amazing Archives.
Judge for the Sanford Award for Heritage Education
I am a judge for the Sandford Award for Heritage Education. I recently judged Jane Austen House Museum and Chawton House Museum education programmes.
The Sandford Award is an independently judged, quality assured assessment of education programmes at heritage sites, museums, archives and collections across the UK.
UK representative for ICOM CECA
I am the UK representative for ICOM’s Committee for Education and Cultural Action (CECA).
With over 1,000 members coming from about 85 countries, CECA is also one of its largest Committees. The aims are to promote the development of museum education and cultural action and to provide an international forum for information exchange and co-operation between professionals, museums and related institutions in order to develop the field of education and cultural action, to discuss its problems and to foresee its evolution.
