I’m excited to have taken on the role as the Chair for the GEM Freelance Network.
As a starter for 10, I wanted to invite all museum education freelancers/ consultants to a meeting at the Postal Museum on Tuesday 10 October 2017 from 5 – 6pm.
There will be tea, coffee, biscuits, good chat and a chance to share ideas, challenges and opportunities.
The purpose of this meeting is to re-launch the GEM Freelance Network and come up with ideas for the kind of things we’d like to see the network do for freelancers in the sector. GEM is currently in the process of having a new website designed so it seems a great opportunity to re-vitalise the network and find out how we can better support both freelancers and museum education staff more. We want the GEM Freelancers Network to have an online presence where people can connect to find people to work with as well as to be a group which meets regularly for training and to share best practice.
The meeting will be followed by the opportunity to book and join us for our GEM London CPD Twilight event from 6pm-8.30pm at the Postal Museum. for a chance to see parts of the museum and ride Mail Rail (please book on to this separately by using the following link bit.ly/2gwcWvN)
I know that many of you may not live in London and can’t get here so easily but rest assured I will be organising regional events for freelancers in the near future as well so I will hopefully see you soon.
I look forward seeing as many of you there as can make it.
